Learn Something New Every Day with HowNow*

If there's one thing that I love, it's learning new things. I've been in education for 17 years straight now, and as stressful as it is, I thrive off it. I love learning new things and acquiring new skills. Not only do hobbies educate you, they also occupy your spare time, give you a distraction from a routine lifestyle, and add to your employability. When HowNow approached me asking if I wanted to try my hand at yoga, I jumped at the opportunity. I've always wanted to try yoga, but, unfortunately, there have been a few things that have stopped me in the past.

1. The wobbly bits. I cringe at the idea of being in a class of really fit, healthy, toned people and being really self-conscious about my own body and fitness levels. Don't get me wrong, I love my body, but I still have those niggling thoughts which eat away at my self-confidence sometimes. Also, although I am exercising a lot more, I still feel as though my fitness levels aren't quite up to scratch.

2. The hassle of finding somewhere local, that is also cheap, that also works with my schedule and that also works with my gym buddy's schedule. Being a university student, money isn't something I have a lot of. I want to keep fit and try new things, but, my bank balance doesn't always allow me to pay the upfront annual charges or the monthly memberships. Also, attending lectures here and there and then fitting blogging, freelancing and a part-time job around that is difficult enough. I cannot be doing with the hassle of rushing around from lecture to yoga class, to work and then back to a lecture. I also like to work out with my friends, however, finding classes we can both afford and travel to is more difficult than it sounds.

With HowNow, I solved all of these issues. Not only did I get to attend a 1:1 yoga class with an expert, but I got to do it at a time which suited me (and the expert) and in the comfort of my own home. The class was tailored to my fitness level and my goals. Although the live two-way video lesson is pretty new to me, it's an absolutely amazing idea. The best thing about it? It was so cheap!

So, what exactly is HowNow? Well, it's essentially a directory of specialists waiting to teach you whatever ou desire! You can learn live over a video chat. Brose through the directory for your expert and once you've found the person that suits you, you book a session with them! You can either click a pre-arranged session slot or you can contact them regarding a time which suits you a little better. Booking is so easy; all you need are your payment details and an e-mail address.

Explore the categories on HowNow to find which class suits you.

Once you've found a class, it takes just a few clicks to select or request a time slot and complete your booking.

You can even get to know your expert teacher prior to the class!

And you can read honest and real reviews from other users.

The classes are all live and the duration of the class varies depending on what you're doing. Once you've booked a class, you will receive a link via e-mail to the class. All you do is click the link and click "begin class". The best thing about this service is that you can re-watch any of your previous lessons! So, for example, if I felt like doing the same yoga workout again, I could head over to my profile and find the lesson to re-watch it. Amazing!

The spectrum of classes available on HowNow is so wide. From academic tutoring to crafts, health & beauty, language and music. You can browse the different categories from HowNow for yourself.

My experience with HowNow has been nothing but positive. My expert was friendly, on time, helpful and also asked me questions about my goals and background in order to cater to my needs and wants. As some of you may already know, I had a lumpectomy on my left breast last year, which often makes most exercises quite difficult as it still affects my breast and surrounding muscles. My expert understood this and adapted different yoga moves in order to suit me - something which would never happen in a scheduled, group yoga class.

Personally, I found the 1:1 session really beneficial as I could talk openly with my expert about such issues without feeling embarrassed or shy. If you're a little more outgoing, you can book group sessions too, (usually cheaper than 1:1 sessions), which are also live and they connect you with people from all over the world!

I have already booked my next yoga class; I can't wait to keep you all updated on how it goes. Who knows, maybe one day I'll be teaching yoga on HowNow!
